Chapter 250: Reading America’s Story Together (Adults – Granville Branch)
Tuesday, August 25th, 5:00 p.m.
What does it mean to be American? Join us for a hybrid community book club exploring that question through the lens of the American Revolution. This month’s featured title is Taverns of the American Revolution by Adrian Covert. From Benjamin Franklin’s “Drinker’s Dictionary” to the barrooms where the Founding Fathers plotted a revolution, this unique volume reveals the crucial role colonial taverns played in shaping American independence. The evening features a screening of Adrian Covert’s interview on the Ben Franklin’s World podcast, followed by an informal group discussion.
Copies of the book are available at the Granville Branch. This free program runs approximately 45 minutes and is available in-person and virtually via Zoom. To register for Zoom, visit: t.ly/sn8gy.
