Board books for babies and toddlers, picture books, perfect for preschoolers, beginner books for early readers, and chapter books for children and tweens. Our DVD collection offers educational and entertaining movies. Interactive Childrens E-Books Now Available
Captivate and engage children through the images and sounds of Capstone’s Digital Library! Children can read an e-book or listen to a professionally narrated e-book, with optional highlighting of the words as they are spoken. Browse a variety of titles, topics and reading levels. Homework Help at Your Library
Homework help is available at your library! Stop in at any of the six Putnam County libraries and ask a librarian…we’re happy to help you find the answer you are looking for! Whether you are searching for facts and figures about people and places around the world, help in locating information to determine the degrees in a certain angle, the number of electrons in uranium, or the distance from Earth to Mars, or need help in finding a selection of poetry for a language arts essay or a biography for a report, just ask! We’re here to help you find the answers.
Apply for a Library Card
All residents of Putnam County are eligible for a Putnam County Public Library District library card. You can apply for a card at any of the six Putnam County libraries and will need to have a form of identification with you when you apply. Your application will be processed and we will notify you when your library card is available. All teens under the age of 18 will need a parent signature on their application.

The Hennepin branch offers fun and educational games on a computer especially for kids. Public computers and access to the internet are available at all six Putnam County libraries. Internal wireless internet access also is available at the Hennepin and Granville branches. The public computers offer access to the Microsoft Office 2010, which includes WORD, EXCEL, ACCESS, POWERPOINT, and PUBLISHER.
Use of the computers is free and printing fees are posted at each location.
All computer users must accept the Computer Use and Internet Use agreements. Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult to use library computers. All children under the age of 18 must have a computer and internet use agreement signed by a parent or guardian on file at the library.
Patrons are encouraged to use their own discs or USB drives if files need to be saved, as cannot be saved to the hard drive.
